Laine's Photoshoot

My sister had a photoshoot with her beautiful doll, Laine the other day. (She's the Lanie doll but my sister changed the spelling of her name.) New Doll?

Yes...I know I just got Piper. And I'm so happy I did. She's absolutely beautiful and doesn't look anything like my other dolls. But I think I want just one more. I want one that's really unique and different from the dolls I have. So here are some pictures of dolls I'm considering.

I don't have any African American dolls and this one is so cute! Her hair seems easier to manage than most curly-haired dolls because her curls are shorter and smaller. She's one of my top choices. If I got her, I'd name her Skylar.

Something about this doll I really like. Her freckles are really cute and I like how her hair is wavy rather than board straight. She looks a lot like Quinn with brown hair though....so I'm not so sure. If I got her I would probably name her Eva or Jenna.

This doll is another one of my top choices. She doesn't really look like any of the dolls that I have, and I love her long loose curls. Her eyes are gorgeous too. If I got this doll, I'd name her Spencer.

I really like this doll. The only one of my girls that has bangs is Nellie, and Lanie sort of has bangs. Her eyes also really pop against her skin. If I got this doll, I'd name her Jenna. (As you can see, I like that name.)

Well that's all my doll ideas for now. I don't think I'll be getting her for a long time, since I just got Piper. Maybe at the end of the year, or even next year after I determine whether I like the GOTY for 2014. Let me know in the comments section which doll you like best!

New American Girl Items

So today I got an email from American Girl telling me that they had come out with some new items. Right away I was excited because I was starting to get sick of the same old stuff. So I'm going to give you guys a review on what I think about the new items. (Just my opinion guys... You don't have to believe the same way.)

I was really unhappy with this outfit. The shoes and shorts are cute but sort of plain. My girls have shoes just like that, but in a different color. The shorts are cute but kind of blah. And the shirt...Ugh. The two patterns clash horribly. It looks like someone picked two scraps of cloth and made them into a shirt. I definitely won't be purchasing it.

I really like this dress! I love the little bows on the shoes and the colors in the dress are really nice. I also like how it comes with I clip. However, it looks a lot like the Pretty Plaid Dress that American Girl came out with a few years ago, which I already have, so I doubt I will get this outfit.

Out of all the new items, this was by far my favorite. The shoes are soooo adorable. They really bring out the color of the rose and the clip. I love how the dress isn't purple or pink and girly looking. It looks like it would be for an older girl, so I bet Quinn and Emily will be begging me for it. I will most likely be purchasing this outfit. (If I can bring myself to cough up $30.)

I'm a little on the fence about this bath wrap. First off, it's a bath wrap. How many of you have actually ever WORN a bath wrap, because I know I haven't. (I'm not saying it's weird if you do.) I personally want a warm and fluffy robe to wrap up in after a shower or bath, and this doesn't fit the bill. I wish American Girl would make another robe like they made for Emily's collection. However, I really like the pattern, and I know Sofi especially would. Maybe it could be a birthday present for her?

This outfit is so cute and detailed! It looks like a real biking outfit. I don't think I'd ever have a use for it though, so I doubt I'll be purchasing it.

Nellie's New Hair

As some of you may know, Nellie is getting to be pretty old. This Christmas, I'll have had her for 9 years. Her hair was really starting to look it's age. The shiny blonde color was long gone, it was stiff and felt like straw, and I had also cut it when I was little, so it was more like Kit's length. I didn't really want to replace her whole head because I loved her pre-mattel face. I'd made so many memories with her the way she was. I browsed the internet for months to try and find a new wig, at no avail. I finally found one on Ebay that was an EXACT replica of Nellie's original wig. I was so happy! My mom ordered it for me, and it came in the mail yesterday. I watched a tutorial on stephenswodadancer's channel on how to rewig, and followed her instructions. I did not, however, use the nail polish remover like she suggested. (We were out.) I had heard many stories about rewigging take hours and hours, but removing Nellie's wig took all of 15 minutes. I've attached some pictures of what Nellie looked like before and after the rewigging.

This was Nellie before the rewigging. As you can see, her hair is very short and slightly uneven. My mom tried her best to fix it after I cut it as a little girl, but only so much could be done without shearing off all her hair.

And...ta da! Here's Nellie after! I absolutely love this wig. I can't even remember the last time that Nellie looked this way. Her hair is so soft and shiny. It's even long enough to put in a ponytail now!

So anyhoo...I'm very happy with the way that Nellie's hair turned out. I'm debating on whether or not to rewig Jess.... Comment and let me know if I should! I hope you all are having a good week! :) See ya soon.

Happy Birthday Bella!

Yesterday (February 1st) Bella turned four years old! We had her birthday party on Monday, and she had a lot of fun. She got a necklace, 3 pairs of earrings, and a LeapPad (which is like a little kid iPad.) She'll be getting more presents from my sister and friends soon. I've attached some pictures of the party below.

Here's Bella and her present :) She's wearing Saige's fancy outfit and has her hair clipped back with a tiny pink jaw clip.

And here's Bella with Miranda on the left and my friend's doll Julie on the right. The "cake" is a candle that looks like a real cake. It's actually kind of funny because in all the pictures, it looks like the cake is on fire but it was really only lit up by one little wick.

Meet My Dolls!

Nellie: Eleanor Rose was my first ever American Girl Doll. I got her for Christmas from my neighbors in 2004. In our family, she is 11 years old. She loves animals, especially dogs, playing the cello, reading, her dog Coconut, her hamster Oasis, and lacrosse. Her best friends are Sage and Sarah, (Who are my friends dolls) and Mia (My sister's doll), and the sister she is most acquainted with is Sofi. When Nellie grows up, she wants to be a vet.

Jess: Jessica Akiko was my second doll. I got her for my birthday in 2006, also from my neighbors. Jess is 13. She loves soccer, lacrosse, going to the beach, her puppy Honey, her hamster Tropicana, her cell phone, her laptop, writing and hanging out with her friends. If you don't know Jess very well, she can seem sarcastic and rude, but she always looks out for her family. Her best friends are Julie, Makenna, and Elizabeth. (My friends’ dolls) The sister she is most acquainted with is Alana. When Jess grows up she wants to be a writer.

Emily: I got Amelia Nicole in November of 2006 from my neighbors. She came 8 months after Jess. Emily turned 13 in July. Emily loves singing, dancing, gymnastics, field hockey, her dog Cali, her hamster Melody, and hanging out with her friends. Emily is the sweet, kind one in the family. Whenever someone needs advice, they go to Emily. Her best friends are two different Felicitys that belong to two of my friends. The sister she is most acquainted with is Quinn. When Emily grows up she wants to be a singer.

Julie: Julianna Catherine was a Christmas present from my neighbors in 2007. Julie just turned 9 on January first. She loves drawing, basketball, cheerleading, playing in the snow, her rabbit Nutmeg, her hamster Strawberry, and her twin sister Lanie. Her best friends are Jess, McKenna, and Pamela (my friends dolls) and Kanani (my sister's doll). The sister she is most acquainted with is her twin sister Lanie. When Julie grows up she wants to be an artist.

Lanie: Lilianna Delaney was a birthday present from my dad in 2010. Lanie is Julie's twin, and she is 9 years old. She loves basketball, lacrosse, playing outside, science, reading, her hamster Kiwi, and spending time with her sisters. Her best friends are Jess, McKenna, and Pamela (my friends dolls) and Kanani (my sister's doll). The sister she is most acquainted with is Julie. When Lanie grows up she wants to be a scientist or a park ranger.

Sofi: Sofi Grace was a hand-me-down from a friend of mine who no longer liked American Girl Dolls. She is actually a Rebecca doll. I got her in late 2010. Sofi turned 10 in April. She loves making cupcakes, ballet, reading, gymnastics, lacrosse, her cat Licorice, and her hamster Cupcake. Sofi's best friends are Rebekah (my friend's doll) and Kit (my sister's doll). The sister she is most acquainted with is Nellie.

Miranda: I got Miranda Juliette in October 2010 from my dad for good grades. She is 5 years old and in kindergarten. She is the JLY with short brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. Miranda loves cheerleading, riding her bike, coloring, playing with toys, watching My Little Pony and Good Luck Charlie, and cuddling on the couch. Her best friends are Julie, Heather, and Rosie (my friends dolls) and Abby and Laine (My sister's dolls). The sister she is most acquainted with is Bella. When Miranda grows up she wants to be a princess.

Alana: I bought Alana Kanani a few weeks after she came out in January of 2011. Alana is actually a Kanani doll, but I renamed her. She turned 13 in June. Alana loves swimming, surfing, lacrosse, volleyball, her hamster named Kauai (said like Kuh-wah-ee), and going to the beach. Alana's best friends are Kanani and Malu (my friend's dolls). The sister Alana is most acquainted with is Jess. When Alana grows up she wants to be a swimmer.

Quinn: My dad got me Quinn Arielle (Arielle is said like Air-ee-yell) at our trip to the American Girl Place in November 2011. She is the JLY with blonde hair (all one length) and blue eyes. Quinn will be 14 in May, and she's the oldest of the sisters. Quinn likes cheerleading, lacrosse, going to the movies, her cell phone, her computer, her hedgehog named Basil, and hanging out with her friends. Quinn's best friend is Kirsten (my friend's doll) but she is very popular and has a lot of friends at school. The sister she is most acquainted with is Emily. When Quinn grows up she wants to be a teacher.

Bella: I bought Isabella Mae with my own money at the American Girl Store in January of 2012. She is actually the McKenna doll. Bella turned 4 on February first and she is the youngest in the family. Bella likes cheerleading, gymnastics, coloring, playing outside, trying to be like all her big sisters, watching My Little Pony and Sofia the First, and driving her sisters insane. Bella is very loud, crazy, and silly. Bella's best friends are London (my friend's doll) and Catlin (my sister's doll). The sister Bella is most acquainted with is Miranda. When she grows up she wants to be a unicorn trainer.

Piper: Piper Jane is my newest doll. I got her January of this year at the American Girl Place. She was originally Saige, the girl of the year 2013, but my friend has a JLY named Sage, and I figured that would be confusing. She turned 8 in August. Piper is very shy and quiet, but she seems to love her sisters already. My sister adopted her biological sister, Brennan. (Brennan is the JLY with short red hair and green eyes). Piper loves horses and horseback riding, painting, going to church and her CCD classes, reading, and spending time with her sister Brennan. Her best friends are my sister's dolls, Brennan and Auburn, and my friend's doll McKenna. When Piper grows up, she wants to be an artist or a jockey.
